before the IPL began for the year 2009 the most exciting game started in the country and in the state long before....Ya...the game of elections started...with the election commission announcing the schedule of the 15th general elections in the country the race has started for the prime minister post.
The same time,...race has also began in our state...with the newly born party PRP in the fray for the elections its a triangular contest in andhra pradesh. The entry of film stars into politics has brought great interest among the people of andhra pradesh. let us dedicate this post towards the state's elections and for the country's elections i will start a new post soon...
The election commission was busy from the last one year in preparing the electoral rolls for the state's population.There were many complaints by the political parties on the lists prepared and any how the Chief election Commissioner I.V.Subbarao..and his staff have tried a lot in bringing a better electoral list than the previous time. Mean while the state has witness a lot of political movement with Film star Chiru launching his party in the temple town Tirupati , then the communists eying for a tie up (chiru or tdp). TDP has announced its support for seperate Telangana state...
finally before the code came into effect there were 3 major political groups dat include
1) congress + MIM
2) TDP + TRS+ COMMUNISTS ( MAHA KUTAMI)
3) PRP ( ALONE WITH DEVENDER GOUD OF COURSE )
TDP president CB naidu..has tried vooing chiru towards the maha kutami but chiru has not shown any signs of interest...so finally 3 kutami's formed in the state....and everyone announced their support for seperate telangana state...
Now the code of conduct started and the govt affairs came into the hands of CEO, I.V.Subbarao.
DGP yadav has given comments praising the YSR govt after the code was in efect. This has caused the CEO to remove him and appoint the new DGP Mr. A.K.Mahonty...who was known for his strict rule. Every one welcomed the decision except the congress govt.. CEO also has ordered transfer of some of the district SP's for their violation of model code.
finally a new administration came into existense...
The first phase of elections covered mostly the telangana districts and the north costal andhra districts...Maha kutami was supposed to be in the leading for telangana and PRP was supposed to be having an edge in north costa...because of the caste groupings over there...
During the election phase our DGP was so strict that amount more than 40 crores was brought under book dat was being transmitted in the state..everyone praised the state for his courage..
Lok satta party leader Jaya Prakash Narayanan was in fray from the Kukatpally constituency where most of the voters are highly educated....he has also done some train yatras for his party .
Every party supported telangana state formation..der were popular figures doing campaign in the state like rahul , sonia, advani, modi etc.....and the first phase went on almost peacefully......
most of the tv channels said that it was Maha Kutami that is going to sweep the Telangana side and PRP in north costal region....
Suddenly on the day of election our chief minister has given some facts regarding KCR..when he was campaigning in kurnool....
he said dat kcr will see us as foreigners and we cannot run any business in hyd ...so dont' vote for tdp as it has support of TRS...
no one knows why the cm forgot these words when they went along with TRS in 2004 elections...
it seemed that our cm lost his temper because of mahakutami sweeping telangana region...but the voter's mandate is locked in the strong rooms..till may 16th...
during the second phase campaing , there was triangular contest in almost all the constituencies,....PRP lost some of its fame because of comments dat it has sold its tickets...
but chiru has sticked to his mantra of "saamajika nyayam..."
the second phase also went on without any big incidents.....
then it was touring time for our political leaders till may 16th with cm visiting simla...tdp supremo going to singapore...( he cancelled his tour to america because of swine flu)....and chiru (not known)......
before the D'day may 16th....der was a jerk in maha kutami with TRS chief jumping to NDA side...
finally results came...and the party with 37% got elected...
is it not a shame on the country's democracy..dat people who did not pass (40) could form govt...
